This plant commands attention all summer and fall in your landscape. The lush color-changing blooms are a great focal point. With enough sun, water and well-drained soil, you'll see the huge white flower panicles begin to bloom in summer. The flowers age to a rich pink and remain showy right up until the plants go dormant. This fantastic flower color lasts well into fall, when they'll begin to turn light tan in color. Why not let them remain on the plant all winter long to give you extra winter interest? They'll look amazing all winter long. If you prefer to tidy things up in fall, go ahead and trim back the flowers. Use them for dried arrangements. Hydrangea flowers are some of the best for drying for winter color. Some people even spray paint the blooms! Cut them after they have started to dry on the plant.
