The Plumcot Apricot trees ripens in early June, requiring roughly 300 chill hours to produce fruit (13 days of temperatures below 45 degrees F). The Plumcot is round, large as an apricot and delicious when taken straight off the tree for fresh eating in early June. The plumcot is salt water tolerant and apricots have flourished for centuries in countries that border the Mediterranean sea.
